Our construction business was founded in 1950 by Reuben S. Smoker. Calvin L. Smoker took over the business in January of 1961. Richard Smoker is now Vice President of Construction and has been since 1985.

We have done construction work in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, New York and the Bahamas.

We build new homes, some relatively small to very large dream homes.  We have repaired homes, built additions to homes and restored some older homes.  We have built sample homes and other homes in new developments.  We have built storage sheds, garages, horse barns, riding arenas, cow barns, milking parlors, car repair garages, stores, offices, apartment buildings and restaurants. We have worked on schools, churches and hospitals. We have done repairs and built additions of all kinds.

We have worked for the Brandywine Hospital, Camphill Special Schools, The Devereux Foundation, the Pew family, the Dupont family, the Eisenhower family, the Malcom Forbes family and Melon Bank.  We have  built kitchens for T.V. and sports personalities and the list goes on.
